Seb Lester

One of the world's foremost calligraphers, Seb Lester returns to London Mural Festival 2024 to produce a new large scale work.

His mural for our 2020 edition, painted during the pandemic, showcased the words of Persian poet Hafez: "I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing light of your own being.”

Seb has created logos and illustrations for the likes of NASA, Apple, Nike, The New York Times, and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Previously a Senior Type Designer at Monotype, he developed custom typefaces for many familiar brands, including British Airways, Waitrose and H&M. He designed the retail typefaces Neo Sans, Neo Tech, Soho, and Scene.

Seb trained in Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins. He is studying Heraldic Art at Reigate Art College, and lives and works as an artist and designer in Lewes.
